MIMM #10- Not A Whole Lot

Happy Monday, my little perogies (it’s spelled incorrectly, I know.)! Not a whole lot went on this weekend… Seriously. I watched multiple vamp movies, ate my body weight in guacamole, and had a nice long sleep. The only ‘cool’ thing that happened was that my mother gave me 2 of her old bags (one looks like  mini Berkin bag!) So I’ll post some inspiration, motivation, and drool worthy food porn.

WIAW #6 Girl’s Night Out

Happy Hump Day y’all! Since I don’t want you to wait,  took pictures of what I ate Tuesday, rather then Wednesday (which is what I normally do but I wanted to inform you in case any of you were curious… I bet you guys weren’t).

Let’s begin then!


Breakfast 9:30- I had a student body meeting at noon, so I got up and primped (during summer I don’t really dry my hair or do makeup, but since I had to present various things, I dried and curled and whatnot. I then went downstairs and gorged myself  ate my usual bowl of yogurt. This time: Lemon Chobani, blueberries, Kashi, and flax seed (of course). It was a great way to start my busy day!




Snack 10:45- I noshed on a plum after about an hour since the yogurt just wasn’t doing it for me.

I love plums. Too bad I ate them all in 3 days.

Lunch 3:15– I went to my meeting which I thought was only going to last an hour, hour and a half tops. Try double that. I didn’t get home until 3:10 and was starving by then. Even though I knew my mother and I were going out for dinner, I still had a good sized ‘lunch’ of tuna salad on toast.



Workout 4:30- I started with 15 minutes on the elliptical, then did some ab exercises for about 15 minutes, and did a bit more cardio and followed that pattern for a little over an hour. I was dripping with sweat and ready to eat!

Dinner 6:30- Girl’s Night Out was at PF Changs, which is generally where we go since it’s on the same street as the shops and the mall. We did the Prix-Fix menu (you choose a soup, appetizer, 2 entrees, and a small dessert) and picked the following:

I’m kind of weird, but I use the smaller appetizer plate to eat my entree off of. I eat less, and I feel fuller since I eat everything on my plate. I also pick a few more pieces of meat and veg, but for the most part, I eat 1/2 as much food as I would if I ate off the larger entree plate. Just a little tip (;

MIMM #7- It’s Just Another Manic Monday

Hello my little doves! Happy Monday (ignore the oxymoron). I’d say this weekend went by incredibly fast, unfortunately, because now I have to wake up early and work. Although babysitting isn’t too much work. Anyways. Lets do this MIMM! Thanks Katie for hosting again!

1. Marvellous is not having to clean my room because if a showing. I slept in on Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed my uninterrupted slumber without having to get up and dust and wipe and vacuum.

2. Marvellous is a must needed facial. Thank god for Massage Envy. My skin is now glowing and slowly getting clearer.

3. Marvellous is running again. After 3 weeks without it, I can say I’ve missed it so much. I almost died/threw up but hey, what’s exercise without a bit of exertion. Ill be running all the time now!

4. Marvellous was lunch yesterday! I roasted bell pepper, swaii (a white fish with a very mild flavor and firm texture), some spices and topped the whole thing over some spinach and Kerrygold aged white cheddar. It was amazing.

5. Marvellous is makeup! I bought Revlon Just Bitten lip stain (which to me resembles a Clinique Chubby Stick) in a beautiful fuchsia color, a Maybelline Bouncy Blush in Peach Petal, and a bottle of Not Your Mother’s frizz cream. It was, all in all, an awesome little pick me up.

6. Not so marvellous is my lack of pictures. I’m sorry. I was quite busy and ended up snapping only what I could. Including:

MIMM #5- Amusement Parks and Not So Clean Eating

Now on a bit more of a serious note; whilst being on vacation I feel like I’ve been slacking on my workouts and clean eating. But where I’m staying at the moment, my access to healthy food is very very limited. I’ve basically been surviving off of protein bars that I got when I was with my dad and bananas. I know that I should just enjoy myself while on vacation but I still want to be relatively healthy. Luckily today ill be walking around/on my feet for a good 10 hours. I’m just worried about Tuesday-Thursday. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Friday Facts #4- Cincinnati and Parties

Sorry for leaving y’all for two days! (Thanks for reminding me, Mother) Didn’t mean to. I was preoccupied by rain. It’s magical.

So lets get on to some facts!

1. I can’t wait for my aunt’s famous Fourth Party tomorrow. So technically it’s a Sixth of July Party. Anyways, there is always mountains of food, fireworks, and an inevitable pool fight. My brother was pushed in a few years back. Guess who got a new phone after that night? (Hint: it wasn’t me)

2. I went to a dive/bar/restaurant called Terry’s Turf Club on the east side of Cinci for lunch with my dad today and let me just say… I MISSED REAL BURGERS! I rarely have them and this was a perfect treat! The ambience was awesome; very retro but classic dive. I’m happy that Guy Fieri featured it on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives! It’s a must go if you’re in the area!

3. I’m going to miss Cincinnati when I go back next Thursday. The weather is, although a bit wet, much better than the 100+ temps in California.

4. I’ve really been loving Luna’s protein bars! Even the normal bars are just fabulous. I’ve been having them with plain Chobani and a bit of fruit for a really filling breakfast. I wish I could receive some of the mystery flavors though!

5. Fitfluential really needs to hurry up with the application openings! I’d love to be an ambassador!

6. I think old 80’s movies are the best: The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles, Evil Dead… Well maybe not Evil Dead. That one’s a but cheesy. Not all originals are the best.

7. I’m going to be full from this burger for the next, hmmm, 3 hours. No need for dinner 😉

WIAW #3 – A Legendary Baseball Game… And Burgers

Breakfast 8:30: Short and sweet, a lemon Luna bar which just happens to be my second favorite. I chomped this down before I ran over (not literally although I should and could have) to the gym for some lower body work.

The sled and some dead lifts did it for my legs. I was already sore from my upper body workout. Now I’m just sore all over.

Lunch 11:00: My early lunch was an oldie but a goodie: egg scramble with spinach and salsa! Yum yum yum. I was starved after that workout, I’m telling you. Toast and strawberries kept me full until around 2 when

Snacks 2:00-4:00: I snacked off and on throughout the afternoon. After my dad and I stopped at the book store, we went to Kroger for some groceries… And free samples. (Newer Kroger’s are so much nicer and the samples are much more ample!) I snagged a wonderful wheat berry and roasted corn salad that I’m forcing asking my lovely father to buy me when we go out today.
A plum and some pistachios were also eaten.

Dinner 5:20: Simple yet delicious was my burger topped with Swiss cheese, pesto and a slice of Ezekiel bread. Awesome possum.

We went to a legendary game. The Cincinnati Reds beat San Fran 3-0 and our pitcher pitched an almost perfect game. I’m proud to be a Cincinnatian.

MIMM #4- Final Michigan Recap, Onion Rings, and Clean Eating

Happy July 1st! I cannot believe it’s already halfway through the year. Time to start Christmas shopping! Anyways, there are more important things to discuss… LIKE LITTLE BABY ROCCO! Healthy Diva Eats (The founder of MIMM) had her little baby boy yesterday! Congrats for the fifth time Katie, and thanks for hosting again!


We left Michigan early Saturday morning and began the 14 hour trek home. I slept for a good portion of it, but I did take a couple pictures that I thought we spark some interest.

I have apparently been spelling my name wrong all my life. I was sure it was spelled Zoe. Looks like I’m going to have to change all my information now……. I’m kidding. That’s a lot of wasted ink on extra vowels.

For lunch we stopped in Mackinaw after we saw a quaint family restaurant called Darrow’s. I was good (and after a week of crappy eating, I needed to be good) and got the Raspberry Chicken Salad. I asked for no cheese and dressing on the side, just to be sure.



My dad, however, stuck with a fish sandwich and onion rings the size of his head… And he has a really big head.

When we got back I made some eggs, checked and caught up on some blogs, and fell asleep.

Sunday I woke up and ran! It was a slow and painful run as I haven’t been running since before I left. I know. I can feel your glares from here. It’s an embarrassing distance and an even more embarrassing was my average mile time. I need tissues.


But! The good news is I’m going to start running every day! My goal is to be able to run 5 miles easy by the beginning of school again. Okay maybe by Halloween.

After I showered and dressed etc, I drove down to my grandparents house and visited. My brother from another mother showed up as well but promptly left about an hour later. Some of us have lives I guess. The rest of my day was laid back and relaxing, as Sunday’s should be.


I also went for a nice 2 mile walk around the park/creek with these guys. Let’s just say the ride back was a little… Damp.

I’m starting to eat a lot more… Cleanly (Is that the proper word?) I’ve really stopped focusing on the carbs and amount of calories (well I still care but I’m a little less restrictive)! I feel better, and I think I look better. Hopefully I can keep it up through all the Fourth of July BBQ’s and cook outs this summer! If you have any advice, please comment below! I’d love to hear some of your opinions on the matter.
