Bonjour my little croissants! ‘Tis Tuesday, my least favorite day of the week. I have an exam, test, and it’s at least 99 every day. But I’m moving away from the negativity. BECAUSE IT IS TIME FOR SOME AUTUMN HAPPINESS Y’ALL.

Autumn is my favorite season. Here is a list of reasons why Fall is perfect:

Pumpkin everything. Pumpkin bread, cookies, cakes, lattes, candles, pies, and lotions. It’s hard to say that pumpkin isn’t exciting in my opinion.

Crunchy, beautifully colored leaves. I’m not sure if it is the smell or the look of them, but it’s so ‘Autumn-y’ and nostalgic.

WIAW #6 Girl’s Night Out

Happy Hump Day y’all! Since I don’t want you to wait,  took pictures of what I ate Tuesday, rather then Wednesday (which is what I normally do but I wanted to inform you in case any of you were curious… I bet you guys weren’t).

Let’s begin then!

 

Breakfast 9:30- I had a student body meeting at noon, so I got up and primped (during summer I don’t really dry my hair or do makeup, but since I had to present various things, I dried and curled and whatnot. I then went downstairs and gorged myself  ate my usual bowl of yogurt. This time: Lemon Chobani, blueberries, Kashi, and flax seed (of course). It was a great way to start my busy day!

Snack 10:45- I noshed on a plum after about an hour since the yogurt just wasn’t doing it for me.

I love plums. Too bad I ate them all in 3 days.

Lunch 3:15– I went to my meeting which I thought was only going to last an hour, hour and a half tops. Try double that. I didn’t get home until 3:10 and was starving by then. Even though I knew my mother and I were going out for dinner, I still had a good sized ‘lunch’ of tuna salad on toast.

Workout 4:30- I started with 15 minutes on the elliptical, then did some ab exercises for about 15 minutes, and did a bit more cardio and followed that pattern for a little over an hour. I was dripping with sweat and ready to eat!

Dinner 6:30- Girl’s Night Out was at PF Changs, which is generally where we go since it’s on the same street as the shops and the mall. We did the Prix-Fix menu (you choose a soup, appetizer, 2 entrees, and a small dessert) and picked the following:

I’m kind of weird, but I use the smaller appetizer plate to eat my entree off of. I eat less, and I feel fuller since I eat everything on my plate. I also pick a few more pieces of meat and veg, but for the most part, I eat 1/2 as much food as I would if I ate off the larger entree plate. Just a little tip (;

MIMM #8- Marvelous Recipe Monday

Hi folks! Hope your Monday is going/went well (as well as Monday’s can be).

Because of the fact that I did nothing this weekend (I watched Netflix with my mother for a good 48 hours), I decided to post 3 fantastic marvelous recipes that I’ve been loving lately!

Tangy, Crunchy Tuna Salad

Time: 5 Minutes

What You’ll Need:

1 can of chunk light tuna (preferably in water)

1-2 T of greek yogurt (depending on how wet you like your tuna salad)

1 stalk of celery, finely chopped

1/2 of a green apple, finely chopped

1 t curry

Sprinkle of salt and pepper

1/2 t garlic powder

What You’ll Do:

1. Mix ingredients together until thoroughly combined.

2. Enjoy on top of spinach, rice cakes, crackers, or by itself!

Sugar/Gluten Free “Cookie Dough”

Time: 15 Minutes

What You’ll Need:

4 T of Greek Yogurt

1/2 t of vanilla extract (anymore will be too overpowering)

1/2 t of cinnamon

1 t of agave nectar/xylitol/stevia

1 T of peanut/almond butter

Mix In’s: Chocolate chips, raisins, butterscotch chips, pretty much anything you put in cookies!

What You’ll Do:

1. Melt peanut butter for 35 seconds or until completely melted.

2. Put in freezer for 10 minutes until cool

3. Mix all other ingredients and serve with pears, apples, crackers, etc

( No picture! I figure you know what cookie dough looks like 😛 )

Zoe’s Favorite Panini

Time: 15 Minutes

What You’ll Need:

2 slices of Ezekiel Bread

1 slice of Swiss Cheese

1 T of mozzarella

1/2 pear, sliced thin

1 t dijon mustard

1 piece of prosciutto, thinly sliced

Cooking Spray

What You’ll Do:

1. Turn on panini press/pan to medium.

2. Spray bread with cooking spray (or butter if you’re feeling extra special)

3. Layer bread, dijon, swiss, pear, prosciutto, pear, mozzarella, dijon, and place on grill. Cook until brown.

4. Flip and cook until golden and delicious, then serve.

MIMM #7- It’s Just Another Manic Monday

Hello my little doves! Happy Monday (ignore the oxymoron). I’d say this weekend went by incredibly fast, unfortunately, because now I have to wake up early and work. Although babysitting isn’t too much work. Anyways. Lets do this MIMM! Thanks Katie for hosting again!

1. Marvellous is not having to clean my room because if a showing. I slept in on Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed my uninterrupted slumber without having to get up and dust and wipe and vacuum.

2. Marvellous is a must needed facial. Thank god for Massage Envy. My skin is now glowing and slowly getting clearer.

3. Marvellous is running again. After 3 weeks without it, I can say I’ve missed it so much. I almost died/threw up but hey, what’s exercise without a bit of exertion. Ill be running all the time now!

4. Marvellous was lunch yesterday! I roasted bell pepper, swaii (a white fish with a very mild flavor and firm texture), some spices and topped the whole thing over some spinach and Kerrygold aged white cheddar. It was amazing.

5. Marvellous is makeup! I bought Revlon Just Bitten lip stain (which to me resembles a Clinique Chubby Stick) in a beautiful fuchsia color, a Maybelline Bouncy Blush in Peach Petal, and a bottle of Not Your Mother’s frizz cream. It was, all in all, an awesome little pick me up.

6. Not so marvellous is my lack of pictures. I’m sorry. I was quite busy and ended up snapping only what I could. Including:

WIAW #4 Kid Food and Pubbing

HAPPY HUMP DAY! *Insert Camel whooping* I ate, I cried (well, the babies cried), and I did not exercise. It may have been an unproductive day but the food was wonderful.

Breakfast 6:15- A really quick breakfast thrown together before work: plain Chobani mixed with vanilla and a dash of agave, then topped with Kashi Berry Crunch. I prepared a mug of hot lemon and cayenne water and headed out!

Lunch 1:30- After grocery shopping and finally getting the kids asleep, I grabbed some lunch which was a few chicken tenders (ah nostalgia) and pasta salad. Not exactly the healthiest luch but I was starving and it was 1:30 and the pasta salad was the bomb.

I continued drinking my lemon-cayenne and worked until 5, then got home, grabbed my lipstick and ran out the door with the family to go check out our new house! I haven’t really mentioned it before since the offer was still pending, but now (besides some paper work and an inspector visit) we are ready to get in! Well, if we can sell our house. Anyways back to the food …

Snack 5:30- Whilst at the house, I picked a few plums and oranges to steal and eat eat when I got home. The current owner of the property is extremely kind and gave my brother and I a bag (Trader Joes! I thought it was funny. Sorry) and we grabbed some fruit to go. I ate one. #sorryimnotsorry. It was the best plum I’ve had.

Dinner 7:00- We went to a local Irish Pub and therefore I did away with the idea of a salad and ordered a veggie burger topped with mushrooms and onion and a small salad. I needed my greens 😉 It was awesome! And I may have stolen a few potatoes and corn beef from my family. What can I say? Irish food makes me happy.

MIMM #6 I Got A Job, Food, and Inspiration

Good Monday to you all. I hope your weekend was fine and dandy and I hope you’re prepared for a wonderful MIMM post!

Marvelous is my summer job! I’m babysitting an adorable baby named Gaby whom I would like to adopt immediately. She makes those 9 hours fly by. (For safety reasons for Gaby, I will not be posting pictures of her adorableness. She is cute though, I promise).

Marvelous is guacamole. It’s taco night. Need I say more?

Marvelous is a full day without electronics. I left my phone at home, didn’t post pr use the computer so I could really focus on the baby. It was nice to be away from social media for once and I can say that I wouldn’t mind doing it more often.

WIAW #3 – A Legendary Baseball Game… And Burgers

(After I first typed this up, my computer decided to delete it. So this version may be a bit shorter. I apologise for the inconvenience.)

Breakfast 8:30: Short and sweet, a lemon Luna bar which just happens to be my second favorite. I chomped this down before I ran over (not literally although I should and could have) to the gym for some lower body work.

The sled and some dead lifts did it for my legs. I was already sore from my upper body workout. Now I’m just sore all over.

Lunch 11:00: My early lunch was an oldie but a goodie: egg scramble with spinach and salsa! Yum yum yum. I was starved after that workout, I’m telling you. Toast and strawberries kept me full until around 2 when

Snacks 2:00-4:00: I snacked off and on throughout the afternoon. After my dad and I stopped at the book store, we went to Kroger for some groceries… And free samples. (Newer Kroger’s are so much nicer and the samples are much more ample!) I snagged a wonderful wheat berry and roasted corn salad that I’m forcing asking my lovely father to buy me when we go out today.
A plum and some pistachios were also eaten.

Dinner 5:20: Simple yet delicious was my burger topped with Swiss cheese, pesto and a slice of Ezekiel bread. Awesome possum.

We went to a legendary game. The Cincinnati Reds beat San Fran 3-0 and our pitcher pitched an almost perfect game. I’m proud to be a Cincinnatian.
