Bonjour my little croissants! ‘Tis Tuesday, my least favorite day of the week. I have an exam, test, and it’s at least 99 every day. But I’m moving away from the negativity. BECAUSE IT IS TIME FOR SOME AUTUMN HAPPINESS Y’ALL.

Autumn is my favorite season. Here is a list of reasons why Fall is perfect:

Pumpkin everything. Pumpkin bread, cookies, cakes, lattes, candles, pies, and lotions. It’s hard to say that pumpkin isn’t exciting in my opinion.

Crunchy, beautifully colored leaves. I’m not sure if it is the smell or the look of them, but it’s so ‘Autumn-y’ and nostalgic.

Friday Facts #8- Classes, The Weekend, and Not Much Else

Bonjourno my little pizza pies! Happy Friday to you all. This week I started school, the house got sold (fingers crossed everything works out) and my cleanse from peanut butter is still going…. Much to my displeasure. I am also getting butter all over my computer whilst I eat toast. Maybe not such a grand idea to eat toast and type a post. Oh well. It’s still tasty and I need to hurry up and finish this post before I leave.

SOOOOOO….

School. It’s good. I’m learning and meeting new people and becoming an erudite (scholar for those who’ve not read the Divergent series which is probably all of you). So far my favorite class is English (no surprise there) and Math (BIG SURPRISE BECAUSE I AM TERRIBLE AT MATH). But I won’t bore you  with my academics. Let’s talk about food.

My newest obsession? Baby triscuits. They’re easy for me to pour in my lunch bag, easy to snack on, and easy to eat. Which may spark problems if I’m absolutely ‘famished’ after school.

Smoothies! I’m late on the bandwagon with this one but I’m really hoping on making some fall inspired recipes soon (including pasta fagoli that tastes just like Olive Garden’s!) and maybe I’ll throw in a pumpkin pie smoothie or something creative like that.

This weekend is all relaxation for the most part (besides a few assignments I am free!) so I’ll be sure to post a Most Wanted post on either Saturday or Sunday including recipes, workouts, and links!

Like it says in the title, there’s not much else going on. So I will leave you with some pictures to stare at.

WIAW #7 A New Recipe and Other Yummy Stuff

Hi friends! Happy HUMP DAY! I’ve got a new recipe for y’all, so lets hop right into it!

Breakfast 9:00- I had a super simple breakfast today consisting of plain yogurt, vanilla extract, a sprinkle of cinnamon, blueberries, and Kashi Cinnamon Crunch.

Lunch 1:00– Last night’s stuffed peppers left us with about 5 peppers worth of the rice and vegetable stuffing. So I put a bit of that on top of some baby spinach, microwaved, and topped with hot sauce. It was a filling, delicious, healthy lunch that kept me full for a while.

Workout (Sorta)- Throughout the day I did the following tabata workout: Burpees, Mountain Climbers, High Knees, Jumping Jacks. It left me a but winded but I did it a couple times an hour just because of the insane heat outside left me wanting to keep it quick and sweaty.

Dinner 7:00- Step-Dad made a super delicious pork loin that I enjoyed with a couple spears of asparagus and broccoli. ’twas wonderful! (Ignore the blurry iphone photo!)

Miscellaneous Snacks and Such: I ate about 3/4 of a Cliff Crunchy PB bar throughout the day.

And after dinner I indulged in banana ‘ice cream’ and a small brownie. It was worth it. Trust me.

Now it’s recipe time! I decided to move away from my loyal yogurt mess and drift into my old favorite, oatmeal! Here’s an easy and delicious steel oat recipe!

Banana Blueberry Steel Cut Oats

Servings: 2

What You’// Need:

1/2 cup of steel cut oats
1 banana, thinly sliced
1/2  cup of blueberries (frozen works best)
1 1/3 cup water
2/3 cup milk of choice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Pinch of nutmeg
Optional: Sweetener of choice and add ins
What You’ll Do:
 
1. Take water and oats and put into a small pot. boil water.
2. Once the water is boiling add in spices and milk, stir, and reduce heat to medium low. Cook for 20-25 minutes or until the mixture is thick and creamy, stirring frequently. Take the oats off the heat when there is little to no residual liquid left (depending on how you like your oats, you can leave the extra liquid)
3. Here comes the fun part: Take the sliced banana, pour into the pot, and vigorously stir to incorporate the banana thoroughly. When the banana has almost disappeared, add in blueberries.
4. Serve! Pour into a bowl and top with sweetener (agave, xylitol, stevia, honey) and add ins (flax seed, raisins, peanut butter, almond butter, granola)
5. Enjoy with a nice cuppa tea or coffee.

This month flew by! And the worst part is… I go back to classes in 10 days. I might cry. What ever shall I do?! Well, I should write this Currently post. Let’s get that out of the way, hmm?

Current Book Series: The Divergent Series. It’s about a dystopian Chicago where each person is “meant to uphold a particular virtue of humanity: Abnegation (the selfless), Amity (the peaceful), Candor (the honest), Dauntless (the brave) and Erudite (the intelligent). On a given day each year, all sixteen-year-olds take an aptitude test that will tell them which faction they are best suited for, after which they must decide whether to remain with their family or transfer to a new faction.” It has action, violence, love, and it pulls you in within the first sentence. Trust me. I read both Divergent and Insurgent in 2 days.

Current Drink: Water. (Tangent: I got terrible food poisoning on Friday – hence why this wasn’t posted yesterday – and basically laid on the couch, slept, wallowed in sickness, and watched Disney movies. I won’t be having pizza or greek salad for long time.)

Current Food: Bananas. It’s the only thing I can really tolerate.  And eggs with a bit of pepper.

Current TV Show(s): Teen Wolf (rewatching seasons one and two currently!), The Pioneer Woman, and Supernatural!

Current Wish List: Plaid skirts, lots of patterned tops and dresses, and boots – black or brown, knee high or low, moto or equestrian-.

Current Outfit: Oh god. This is embarrassing. Duck Commander tee, glow in the dark cookie PJ shorts, and a bun. I’m so glamourous.

Current Excitement: Beach party on Friday with student body! Meaning I will lay on the sand and listen to the DJ.

Current Mood: Relieved. I’m not barfing everywhere. YAY!

Friday Facts #6 Broken Oven, Workout, and More Vegetables

Hi friends! Happy Friday! This week went by so fast (I wasn’t working and I basically just watched Netfilx and did AP work) but I’m pretty darn excited that it’s the weekend. With The Pioneer Woman on the telly and a bowl or chicken, rice, and veg by my side, I will commence with these Friday Facts.

1. On Wednesday, our oven broke. I can’t make muffins, sweet potato wedges, or anything worth enjoying. Absence makes the baking heart grow fonder.

2. I did a killer workout today thanks to Courtney’s workout page (this one, this one, and this one) and a short yoga set. (After lunch/typing I’m going to take Opal for a nice long walk to burn off this chicken!) and promptly died. And then showered because showering makes everything feel better.

3. Yesterday’s eats were AH-MAH-ZING. I indulged and made chocolate chip pumpkin pancakes (recipe to comeI) for breakfast, leftover meatballs and spinach for lunch, a green apple and crunchy peanut butter for a snack, and chicken poached with wild rice and grilled squash, zucchini, asparagus, and bell pepper. Oh and hot chocolate to finish out the day.

4.I really like Supernatural. That is all.

5. Another thing we don’t have at the moment? Almond milk. Or milk in general. I’d mess my belly up for a bit of milk right now to top my cereal/make vegan mac ‘n’ cheese. The struggle is real.

6. I’m wearing leggings in the middle of summer. The perks of staying inside all day (apart from walks).

Tonight I’m going to a friend’s for a little get together, and the rest of the weekend is unplanned for the most part other than homework and Netflix and workouts.

MIMM #7- It’s Just Another Manic Monday

Hello my little doves! Happy Monday (ignore the oxymoron). I’d say this weekend went by incredibly fast, unfortunately, because now I have to wake up early and work. Although babysitting isn’t too much work. Anyways. Lets do this MIMM! Thanks Katie for hosting again!

1. Marvellous is not having to clean my room because if a showing. I slept in on Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed my uninterrupted slumber without having to get up and dust and wipe and vacuum.

2. Marvellous is a must needed facial. Thank god for Massage Envy. My skin is now glowing and slowly getting clearer.

3. Marvellous is running again. After 3 weeks without it, I can say I’ve missed it so much. I almost died/threw up but hey, what’s exercise without a bit of exertion. Ill be running all the time now!

4. Marvellous was lunch yesterday! I roasted bell pepper, swaii (a white fish with a very mild flavor and firm texture), some spices and topped the whole thing over some spinach and Kerrygold aged white cheddar. It was amazing.

5. Marvellous is makeup! I bought Revlon Just Bitten lip stain (which to me resembles a Clinique Chubby Stick) in a beautiful fuchsia color, a Maybelline Bouncy Blush in Peach Petal, and a bottle of Not Your Mother’s frizz cream. It was, all in all, an awesome little pick me up.

6. Not so marvellous is my lack of pictures. I’m sorry. I was quite busy and ended up snapping only what I could. Including:
